Our Story
A Fashion Designer from Karjain, a small town in Bihar has a sheer love for handlooms and handicrafts. Her Love to create everything handmade has gradually brought her closer to handlooms. She believes, fashion is a combination of traditional techniques and contemporary trend which can be creative, fun, experimental and sustainable together.
Her childhood memories of visiting a yearly exhibition at her grandmother’s place in Faridabad where she and her mother (A fervent handloom admirer) would hunt for special handloom Sarees to add into her collection has brought her closer to textiles. Also, during her visit to the exhibition in Mumbai after her graduation she realized the traditional weaving by hand is fading away gradually. With the goal of Reviving Indian Handlooms and taking authentic Indian weave across the globe the idea of Gunjha originated.
